Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools
When trying to disable (unmount) a partition in Disks Manager, if the unmount fails, then nothing happens - no explanation, no error. Just a screen redraw for the window. For example, if some process is using the partition, then an unmount should fail (umount would return "device is busy" on the command line). Try to disable the partition in Disks manager, and nothing happens, no error is reported. It would be nice if Disks Manager reported that the operation failed, even if all it gave is the umount output. Even better would be some smart output, e.g. the process that is using the partition, for example "fuser -m /dev/sda2" can say which process number is using sda2. Then the command that started the process would be nice to know, for someone trying and failing to unmount that partition. ** Affects: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist Assignee: Ubuntu Desktop Bugs Status: Rejected -- No explanation when Disks Manager cannot unmount https://launchpad.net/bugs/68362 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
