Switching via gdmflexiserver to another user (running kde) and later switching back to my desktop (gnome, metacity) shows the gdmflexiserver dialog still up and both keyboard and mouse are frozen. Killing gdmflexiserver and a screen saver (from another console) frees up the keyboard, but there is still no response to the mouse. Sounds a bit like the 'ubuntulove' post, except that neither Xgl nor Xnest is involved. BTW, running up-to-date version of Dapper Drake.
