Hello Ahmed. Thank you for your early response! Sorry, I don't see any screenshot attached. May be you forgot to attach it? In gEdit 3.2.0 statusbar shows only syntax highlight mode, insert/replace mode, line/column count, tab width (at screenshot). There is no way to change encoding in it =( I understand that this is a feature request, not a bug report. But ability to view any text file is a key feature of any text editor in my opinion. And this feature isn't too hard to implement (that's why I'm writing to papercuts).
