Public bug reported: I'm not sure if this totem-video-thumbnailer or nautilus who is at fault here. When I open any folder with audio files in it, I noticed that the laptop fan started up a few moments later, then later I noticed the icons for the audio files were always the temporary ones when nautilus is waiting for a thumbnail of the media. Then I check .xsession-errors to see if anything was being logged and noticed that there's a continuous output from totem-video-thumbnailer with the following:
totem-video-thumbnailer: 'file:///home/bruno/Desktop/my.mp3' isn't thumbnailable Reason: Media contains no supported video streams. It's a continuous stream with this message for each audio file in the open folders. So either totem-video-thumbnailer is on an infinte loop or nautilus is never happy with totem-video-thumbnailer output and is calling it over and over again. This is on Ubuntu 11.10 totem is version 3.0.1-0ubuntu7 nautilus is version 1:3.2.0-0ubuntu5 ** Affects: totem (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to totem in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/873767 Title: infinite loop in totem-video-thumbnailer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/+bug/873767/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
