Public bug reported: I have a dual screen set up with slightly different resolutions, i.e. external screen is 1920x1200 and the laptop screen is 1920x1080. Taking pictures with the built-in screenshot tool results in a black image with just the mouse pointer showing.
But what makes it a serious problem is that the gnome-screenshot stays resident (after Cancel) and pegs one CPU thread to 100%. After a few attempts of taking screen shots, the whole CPU was maxed out! (see attached system-monitor image) BTW, the screen shots were taken with shutter -- just in case anyone was wondering :) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 Package: gnome-screenshot 3.2.0-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-12.20-generic 3.0.4 Uname: Linux 3.0.0-12-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun Oct 9 16:27:14 2011 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Alpha amd64 (20110804) SourcePackage: gnome-utils UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to oneiric on 2011-09-11 (28 days ago) ** Affects: gnome-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug oneiric running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-utils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/871480 Title: gnome-screenshot fails (black image) and pegs CPU to 100% To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-utils/+bug/871480/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
