You have been subscribed to a public bug: I created a new user account in the normal, GUI way.
I then attempted to log into this user account, but it didn't work. I got a terminal sort of screen briefly (the one you get if you hit F6 during bootup) and then it just went back to the log in screen. I attempted to log in with my account, and it did log in, but Unity did not load. I just had my wallpaper, with a "File Edit View" etc bar at the top. I could open a terminal with ctrl+alt+T to fire up ubuntu-bug and chrome to file this bug. Logging into Ubuntu 2d seems to work but not a normal "Ubuntu" session.
