Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit-plugins
Summary: In the gedit plugin "External Tools", when an accelerator is modified, the change doesn't affect everything it should until a restart is done. Steps to reproduce: Start gedit, activate the "External Tools" plugin if it isn't already activated (in preferences->plugins). Then in the External Tools manager (tools->external tools) create a new tool (or modify an existing one). For example, a tool that does "ls". Now, change the accelerator to control-3. Exit the external tools manager window. Now, manage the external tools again, this time change the accelerator to control-4. Exit again. At this stage, when you view "tools" on the menubar, you will see the old accelerator for "ls", control-3. Control-3 is also the one that actually works. But when you enter the external tools manager (tools->external tools), you will see control-4, which is what you last entered (and what you want to appear in the tools menubar, and to work). Closing and restarting gedit will make everything work fine, i.e. control-4 will appear everywhere, and also work. ** Affects: gedit-plugins (Ubuntu) Importance: Low Assignee: Ubuntu Desktop Bugs Status: Confirmed -- gedit "External Tools" accelerators require restart https://launchpad.net/bugs/68806 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
