Could someone please explain the meaning/purpose of 'Dim screen to save power'? This bug's reporter says that it doesn't have any effect on screen dimming when on idle and on battery. I can also confirm this behaviour. However, in bug 844241, the screen is dimmed but isn't restored on activity but the dimming doesn't occur if the checkbox isn't checked. That bug is also reported against Oneiric.
Would this mean that there are two bugs on screen dimming: one/this bug about dimming not working at all with misleading description for the checkbox and the second one about broken brightness restoring on activity after idle? Or should the misleading description moved to a new bug? ** Tags added: i386 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/840683 Title: gnome-control-center is missing 'dim screen brightness when idle and on battery' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/840683/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
