Public bug reported: At least this appears to be the case. Perhaps it is just poor wording - in the 'Screen' settings there is a checkbox saying 'Dim screen to save power' that apparently does nothing when ticked. Does it really mean 'Dim screen to save power when the computer is idle and on battery'?
