I think I caused this error when I did: chown [my user name] /home/[my user name]
I fixed it by doing: chmod o=u /home/[my user name] I didn't like that solution, because I really wanted to be the only person who would be able to access those files, but this is just my desktop computer. I don't actually know how to fix it so that root and [my user name] can be owners.
