This happens to me too, starting this evening. Have not had the problems before that, and I had not recently done any updates - to see if it helped, I did do a large update (I'm running debian-testing and hadn't run apt-get upgrade for a week or so), but to no avail.
As per http://jiapps.com/blog/learning/error-dbus-error-org-freedesktop- dbus-error-noreply.html I tried running dpkg-reconfigure nautilus, and it worked... slightly. I was able to reach my home folder on the FTP server, but no further than that. Note that the server responds fine through HTTP (it's my web host I'm trying to connect to). I've tried connecting to another FTP server on another web host, but that didn't work either (again, HTTP works fine). Also, if I enter the wrong password, it prompts me for a correct one - indicating that some sort of connection with the server is indeed established. ** Also affects: nautilus (Debian) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/699838 Title: DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/699838/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
