Public bug reported:

Not sure what is causing this. Does not seem to matter what I am doing,
but mostly when system is idle. I have been trying to see if I log out,
then log back on when I am busy with other things. The 'bug' can happen
when logged out and idle. I did some investigating and discovered my
system, IBM Thinkcentre, has a dualcore processor. I see in
/var/log/messages that 2 cpu's are brought up. In the BIOS settings,
there is an option for hyperthreading. I wonder if disabling this will
make a difference. I have a 160Gb HD with WinXP, Ubuntu Edgy Eft, and
Xandros, 1Gb memory. Otherwise I love Ubuntu for it's looks, ease of
loading, hardware support, and the fact that it sees my digital camera
and PDA. Is there a file that gets created when things go haywire?
Ubuntu told me there was a gnome-session crash file, but I see no way of
attaching that file here. Thanks
