Hi Brendan, 1. I used the command guest-session to login as guest. In guest account also the same behavior is seen. (Window closes or crashes)
2. I tried copying files from /tmp to /home/anbarasan/ and the files copied successfully. But when I cut and paste the window closes. Interestingly the cut paste operation is not successful. (When I cut and paste within home folder window closed but cut and paste operation was successful.) 3. I have installed Ubuntu 11.04 in VMware. I have three partitions in Virtual disk. 10GB root, 48GB /home and 2GB swap. sudo parted -l anbarasan@anbarasan-virtual-machine:~$ sudo parted -l [sudo] password for anbarasan: Model: VMware, VMware Virtual S (scsi) Disk /dev/sda: 60.1GB Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B Partition Table: msdos Number Start End Size Type File system Flags 1 1049kB 10.0GB 9999MB primary ext4 boot 2 10.0GB 60.1GB 50.1GB extended 5 10.0GB 58.0GB 48.0GB logical ext4 6 58.0GB 60.1GB 2128MB logical linux-swap(v1) Warning: Unable to open /dev/sr0 read-write (Read-only file system). /dev/sr0 has been opened read-only.
