Public bug reported: while "old"msn contacts, i.e. contacts that were already in my contact list when I first install empahty are shown fine, however, when I add a new msn contact, although the contact is indeed added (and the other person sees my status as online and is able to chat with me), its status is incorrectly shown as offline. I am able to chat with the new contact if I select "show offline contacts", it is just that the status is shown incorrectly.
How to duplicate the issue: 1. create a new msn contact 2. have the new contact sign in 3. notice that the status is offline what should happen instead: should see the status of the new contact as online ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: empathy 2.34.0-0ubuntu3.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-10.46-generic 2.6.38.7 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-10-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Sun Jul 10 20:47:56 2011 EcryptfsInUse: Yes ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/empathy InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" - Release i386 (20110427.1) ProcEnviron: SHELL=/bin/bash LANGUAGE=en_US:en LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SourcePackage: empathy UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) XsessionErrors: (gnome-settings-daemon:2740): libappindicator-WARNING **: Unable to connect to the Notification Watcher: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name :1.94 was not provided by any .service files ** Affects: empathy (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug apport-lpi i386 natty running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/808440 Title: empathy shows new msn contacts as offline To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/808440/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
