Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gimp
I'm using kubuntu 11.04 x86_64. I installed gimp from the package manager. When I find gimp in the menu and click it's icon, gimp appears in the taskbar for about 15 seconds and then disappears. It shows no other signs of life. When I open a terminal and run the command "gimp", I get this text: gimp:26284): GLib-WARNING **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.28.6/./glib/goption.c:2132: ignoring no-arg, optional-arg or filename flags (8) on option of type 0 Segmentation fault I searched a bit around and found a thread where an arch user was able to fix a similar issue by changing his theme. ( https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57948 ). I'm using KDE, and I have "oxygen-gtk" set for running gtk apps. My root account is not using this theme. So, I ran "sudo gimp" in a terminal and gimp starts up as expected. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 11.04 Release: 11.04 $ apt-cache policy gimp gimp: Installed: 2.6.11-1ubuntu6 Candidate: 2.6.11-1ubuntu6 Version table: *** 2.6.11-1ubuntu6 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: gimp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gimp in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/794920 Title: gimp + oxygen-gtk in kubuntu = segment fault To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/794920/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
