With "classic" desktop and four columns and one row of workspaces, I find that a window close to the left-hand edge of workspace 1 disappears from the workspace switcher view when I click on workspace 4 in the switcher. (It is still displayed after clicking on workspaces 2 and 3.) It can be restored by clicking on workspace 1 again.
My speculation is that this is related to Unity because only windows near the left-hand edge of the screen are affected.
