Hola, Daniel. A mí me ocurre lo mismo, ping funciona desde la terminal pero desde las herramientas de red no. He probado a ejecutar gnome- nettool desde la terminal, y creo ( si mis escasos conocimientos no me engañan) que hay un error en el comando que lanza el ping: es "/bin/ping ping -b -c 5 -n www.google.es" (p. ej.) y debería ser "/bin/ping -b -c 5 -n www.google.es".
