Problem confirmed on my 11.04 install as well connection to Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Vinagre asks for a username/password pair (and only allows up to 8 characters for the password) and just displays a black screen. Remmina works when I just provide the VNC password that I set up on the Mac side without a username.
