This problem is definitely not limited to evince. Can anyone tell me what I should do next, please? So far I have received no response at all. Thanks. I cannot even get out of the screen when it locks by using the special CRTL SYS RQ key combinations which would at least indicate that I have something that even prevents the kernel operating correctly - at least this is what I think.
