Additional note: Switching to the Blank screensaver did not make a difference, though it seems to be correlated to having the lid of my laptop closed for approx 20 minutes, and it is more noticable if I have things running onscreen when it happens.
Manually killing gnome-screensaver and compiz doesn't seem to make a difference; nothing short of a full reboot seems to bring it back to normal. Haven't tried it with just the blank Unity desktop. For now I've just disabled the screensaver until I get word that this is fixed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/762918 Title: Natty Screensaver freezes system after some period of inactivity -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
