I've just deleted one hidden directory and its contents:
1. you must be in your /home/[your username]
2. rm -r .gnupg
3. try again and all will be OK
3.1. something like that shall be the new contents:
drwx------  3 ctelmo ctelmo 4096 2011-04-22 17:38 .
drwxr-xr-x 50 ctelmo ctelmo 4096 2011-04-22 17:38 ..
-rw-r--r--  1 ctelmo ctelmo    0 2011-04-22 17:38 gpa.conf
-rw-r--r--  1 ctelmo ctelmo  283 2011-04-22 17:38 gpg.conf
drwx------  2 ctelmo ctelmo 4096 2011-04-22 17:38 private-keys-v1.d
-rw-------  1 ctelmo ctelmo    0 2011-04-22 17:38 pubring.gpg
-rw-r--r--  1 ctelmo ctelmo    0 2011-04-22 17:38 pubring.kbx
-rw-------  1 ctelmo ctelmo    0 2011-04-22 17:38 secring.gpg
-rw-------  1 ctelmo ctelmo   40 2011-04-22 17:38 trustdb.gpg
