Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution
Description: Ubuntu 10.10 Release: 10.10 evolution: Installed: 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3 Candidate: 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3 Version table: *** 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2.30.3-1ubuntu6 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main i386 Packages I'm using evolution with an Exchange mailbox (via evolution-mapi). I also use address book from Exchange server. In most cases I write plain text e-mails. When I write an e-mail to John Smith <john.sm...@matrix.net>, I get following set of headers: To: john.sm...@matrix.net <john.sm...@matrix.net> Subject: test Reply-To: "iFred" <if...@somecompany.com> From: "iFred" <if...@somecompany.com> Message-ID: ... Content-Type: ... Date: Tue, 29 Mar 2011 12:26:20 +0200 Mime-Version: 1.0 Two things here are wrong: 1. In "To" header email address is used as recipient name, while in address book and during message editing it is displayed in correct way e.g. John Smith <john.sm...@matrix.net> By the way, if address of John Smith is in server address book and has a shortcut like "josm", this shortcut is used as recipient name. 2. "Reply-To" header is present, but I left this field empty both in options and during message editing. As I understand, if I want to receive replies to the same address from which I write e-mails, "Reply-To" header should empty or missing. This is correct way, but people (or e-mail clients) often copy "From" header to "Reply-To" header. ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Binary package hint: evolution Description: Ubuntu 10.10 Release: 10.10 evolution: - Installed: 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3 - Candidate: 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3 - Version table: - *** 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3 0 - 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/main i386 Packages - 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status - 2.30.3-1ubuntu6 0 - 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main i386 Packages + Installed: 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3 + Candidate: 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3 + Version table: + *** 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3 0 + 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/main i386 Packages + 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status + 2.30.3-1ubuntu6 0 + 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main i386 Packages I'm using evolution with an Exchange mailbox (via evolution-mapi).
