Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Note: I have finally resolved this. However, there may be an inherent
bug that needs attention.

Ubuntu 10.10
Evolution 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3

I regularly add alarms to calendar events. Ever since I changed to
10.10 over 4 months ago, these have not displayed.

My change to 10.10 was via a fresh install, as my 10.04 system had never
worked well (I still get that 254 notification - minor problem). To do
this, I backed up my /home files, & Evolution settings, & restored these
after I had installed 10.10.

Today, I discovered that the Evolution Alarm notifier in Start-up
Applications was requesting to run file
"/usr/lib/evolution/2.28/evolution". However, when I checked in my
system, the file there was" /usr/lib/evolution/2.30/evolution". Editing
the Start-up Application resolved the problem.

However, clearly for 4 months or more, the Start-up application would
have been failing, but there was no indication to me that this was
happening. This the bug that I would like you to consider.

Thanks, Garry.
