I've attached one file that is supposed to be a text file, but apparently has 'nul' characters in it. It's a log from Microsoft IIS 6.0. The thing that really annoys me is that I can see the file for a little bit when I click "Retry".
The error I'm getting is Could not open the file ftp://---. gedit has not been able to detect the character encoding. Please check that you are not trying to open a binary file. Select a character encoding from the menu and try again. When I click "Retry" after selecting UTF-8 I get this error: Could not open the file ftp://--- using the Unicode (UTF-8) character encoding. gedit has not been able to detect the character encoding.
