Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: evolution
Initially this was filed as bug #706941, where clicking on a contact
after search would hang evolution until Unity crashed. Unity is now
fixed, but evolution still has the problem of hanging the desktop until
it is forcibly killed.
Steps to reproduce:
1. open evolution
2. Import the attached vcf contact (File/Import, import single file)
3. double click (to open) on 'Contact, Test' (sometimes a single click for
preview is enough)
4. evolution hangs, making desktop unusable
This test contact was created by exporting my addressbook as vcf,
finding an affected contact that triggers this bug, then changing the
information in the contact to test values. This contact would would
open/preview fine in previous releases. Some contacts are ok, and some
are not.
This was tested with evolution 2.32.2-0ubuntu2 on Natty Unity/compiz on
bare-metal and Classic Desktop/metacity in a VM and confirmed to be
broken in both cases. Tested evolution 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3 in Maverick VM
(metacity) and it works fine.
