Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When I create an appointment or ask Evolution to look up an email
address with auto-completion, it pauses for about 15 seconds. It looks
like it is waiting for something, then times out and recovers.

During the wait period, Evolution becomes grayed out and I can't do
anything with it.

The bug is severe enough that I avoid using Evolution.

Using Ubuntu 10.10, Evolution 2.30.3
