Binary package hint: metacity I do not use compiz as window wobbling and cube spinning are not things I need on my desktop and it messes up vino. I have a launcher for gnome-terminal in my gnome-panel. If I start a gnome-terminal window from the launcher.. maximise it by double clicking on title bar.. Start another gnome-terminal window.. maximise it by double clicking on title bar.. Alt+Tab from the second gnome terminal window to the first terminal window.. Click the close button (X).. It'll close the second window (underneath the first window) even though the first is focussed. If you substitute sylpheed for example instead of first terminal window, same happens, in that the second terminal window is closed. It seems that when alt+tabbing between applications, focus is not always fully/correctly switched in a gnome desktop environment.
