Yes, this was a one way (nonsense) decision. With each release, we
randomly select 2 or 3 features to remove, just to annoy people. Also,
we will no longer use the letter "u" or the number "7" in any part of
the user interface. The use of the letter "q" is also under review.

If any of this is a problem for you, you can try upgrading to gThumb
2.12.1-3, available here:

More seriously, as a stable release, 2.12.1-3 does include the resizing
tool. The 2.11.x series was an unstable development series.
