I no longer experience this problem on my i386 Lubuntu Natty Alpha 1 system. Yelp now launches successfully (and runs smoothly). Presumably, some update (to something) fixed it.
My system is now running yelp 2.30.2-0ubuntu1 (a later version than when I last tested it). Furthermore, I now *do* have xulrunner-2.0 installed (package version 2.0~b8+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu1). I don't recall that having been installed before (when I made my earlier comments to this bug report). But I didn't actually say I didn't have it, so I cannot be sure. I didn't install it manually, so if I really didn't have it at that time, then it must have been installed automatically as part of the installation or upgrading of some package (maybe yelp, maybe something else). The lubuntu-desktop package now depends on xulrunner-2.0. Since this bug was only happening on my Lubuntu system, perhaps that was an (accidental or intentional) fix for this. But I don't think so. The ubuntu-desktop package doesn't depend on (or even recommend or suggest) xulrunner-2.0. I wish I'd had the presence of mind to indicate in my earlier comments whether or not xulrunner-2.0 was installed on my system. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to yelp in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/673588 Title: Yelp fails to launch -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
