Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

I left my computer for a bit, gnome-screensaver came up, and when I came
back and moved the mouse, the unlock dialog did not appear.

Switching to a VT, I see that both gnome-screensaver and gnome-
screensaver-dialog are running. I just can't see it. Killing the
screensaver got me back into my session.

No interesting logs in .xsession-errors. Not sure how to give useful
info.
