I am running into the same problem: when my Wacom Bamboo One tablet is
connected and I start rhythmbox, I am logged out after a few seconds. It
appears X crashes. Nothing in /var/crash after enabling apport. Xorg
logfile and dmesg show that it appears the tablet is connected and
reconnected 3 times or so.

Excerpt from dmesg:
Dec 11 17:39:59 dallas kernel: [ 28.748150] usb 2-1.1.1: USB disconnect,
address 11
Dec 11 17:39:59 dallas kernel: [ 29.024678] usb 2-1.1.1: new low speed USB
device using ehci_hcd and address 12
Dec 11 17:40:00 dallas kernel: [ 29.121493] input: Wacom Bamboo1 as
/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.0/usb2/2-1/2-1.1/2-1.1.1/2-1.1.1:1.0/input/input12

Nothing else in there.

The order in the Xorg.log is rather odd. It appears the disconnects are
noticed in quick succession as are the reconnects. I have attached the
logfile. After the last line, X crashes (or I'm logged out, I'm not
sure).

Disabling MTP support for Rhythmbox does indeed solve the problem.
