Thank you for your quick response. I used the URL you provided and: o installed gthumb 2.12.1 o slideshow not available o checked extensions, slideshow not available o "more extensions", slideshow greyed out. o selected slideshow->enable and slide show became available in the drop down menu. o Tried slideshow: black screen, no slide show, couldn't exit (esc,ctl+alt+del, ctl+alt+bcsp, etc.) - had to shutdown and restart the machine.
