I have the same problem, but not the same symptoms as Plutocrat describes. My login settings appear to be saved OK (i.e., I'm not prompted for my password at any time and there is an entry in Passwords and Encryption Keys) but I still get the flashing dialogue box on each startup. My account has about 150 MB inside.
