I've checked it again today on Maverick and what I've reported is still present but I did some additional tests with VLC and I noticed that now they both work the same if you try to see the movie from the beginning (rewind it to a certain location with the progress bar) while it's playing. It seems to me that the only reason that in VLC the player correctly handles the play of the movie the second time is that VLC stops the movie and plays it again while the Totem player only rewinds it and then replays it. I guess that because of this test this bug is invalid.
