I have the same problem even with nautilus 2.32.0 in ubuntu 10.10 maverick. I had it also from ubuntu 9.10 for each ubuntu to now. I can fix the bug by deleting .gnonf & .gconfd but lose a lot of settings that have be redone. If I knew what specific file/s in these directories were responsible it would be a lot easier.
