You have been subscribed to a public bug: I just upgraded from a fully up-to-date 10.04 AMD64 install. Now when I attempt to click the login button in gdm, gdm crashes and restarts. I was able to run 'startx' from the commandline and get into my X session that way after shutting off gdm.
The following shows up in /var/log/messages: Sep 28 12:32:44 shrubbery kernel: [ 189.693202] gnome-settings-[2532]: segfault at 60 ip 00007f0b0dde781e sp 00007ffff8b1f2a0 error 4 in libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0.2102.0[7f0b0dccd000+460000] ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: gdm 2.30.2.is.2.30.2-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-7.11-generic 2.6.35-rc4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-7-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia wl Architecture: amd64 Date: Tue Sep 28 12:50:05 2010 ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gdm ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug maverick -- gdm crashes on login https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/650495 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
