Let me attempt a more complete description. I was viewing a folder in Nautilus. This happened to be a network mounted folder mounted via smb4k.
I cannot exactly say why it happened, but the entire icon view became misaligned. There is an invisible row-column grid in which icons are placed normally. This causes each icon to be aligned properly on the invisible grid. The attached screenshot will correctly depict what I consider to be normally and properly aligned icons inside a nautilus folder view. Please contrast this with the screenshot I had given earlier where the icons are not aligned at all. The two sceenshots should make it clear as to what I am trying to report.
