Finally I found the time for debugging. Rhythmbox doesn't show the same behavior in the debugger as in normal mode. With normal program startup, the program exits on copying the music on the phone, the window closes, it disappeares from task bar and system tray. When started within the debugger, Rhythmbox' window is grayed out, frozen, but stays visible in taskbar and tray.
