the bug happens to me too. gnome-screensaver just fades to black. it started happening after i enabled aiglx. i'm using edgy, and the new nvidia drivers. i get /usr/lib/xscreensaver/gears to output, but i'd love to actually use gnome-screensaver and not resort to a completely blank screen. I can't help it, I love cosmos! i've attached my xorg.conf. The ptoblem happens both when I'm running compiz, and when I'm not running it (I'm not sure if it would have anything to do with it, but i'm just letting you know)
