If you right click on one of the songs from one of the artists that are sorted incorrectly, and then choose properties. In the properties dialog, choose the "sorting" tab. The "artist sort order" field here appears to determine how the songs appear in the artists list. This could be "various" (which would explain why they appear after U2 in your list, or it could be blank, in which case I don't know what determines what order they appear in, but it looks like it might depend on the folder name they're stored in. If you put the correct name in here, they'll be sorted correctly. This is quite painful if you have a lot of artists to correct.
I only noticed this myself recently, so I suspect it's a change in behaviour of Rhythmbox. -- incorrect order when sorting songs by artist https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/618200 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
