If I remove "splash" from the linux line in grub, I don't get the screen corruption.
This would be a fine solution if I could get it to stick. It seems I have to do this manually every time I reboot. I've tried removing "splash" from GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT= in the file /etc/default/grub and running an update-grub, and I've tried removing it from the /boot/grub/menu.lst defoption= line (and running an update-grub), but the offending entry always ends up back in my grub list at bootup. -- Screen corruption on gdm startup. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/614748 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
