Sorry for not checking the 'gvfs -li' output before (and for the late answer - I've just come back from an overseas trip). That's strange, because my 'gvfs -li' output shows the invalid value for "can_eject" property too - BTW, the same goes for the Sandisk card reader. So 'can_eject=0' is not apparently preventing gvfs from unmounting any volume:
