Just my $.02. I've been in "discussion" with the developer (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316654) on and off for close to a year on this.
And his rather odd position continues to be "any screensaver theme that requires configuration is inherently broken." Recently he suggested someone else fix his work.
