  Binary package hint: gnome-panel
  
  Move the top panel (with clock and memenu) from top to the right hand side, 
note that both are of the same orientation, move the panel to the left hand 
side then their texts are of opposite orientation (memenu is the incorrect 
orientation)!
  Attached is the screenshot of this behavior.
  
- This also occurs when moving (from either top or bottom) left to right.
