You have been subscribed to a public bug: I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 with Rhythmbox 1.12.8 and an iPod Nano 5th Generation. I can't figure out how to sync music and podcasts (in both directions like iTunes does) between RB and the iPod. Can Rhythmbox even do it? I think I have all the codecs necessary and Rythmbox has the Portable Players - iPod plugin installed and enabled.
After much experimenting I figured out I can drag and drop individual Podcasts from Rb to the iP (but not in the other direction) and songs in both directions, but the interface is not intuitive at all and I can't figure out if there's a way to sync up as I normally would with iTunes. I also can't figure out how to move playlists from one to the other. After I figured out the limited workarounds noted above I saw similar workarounds proposed as an 'answer' to Question #97074, but I do not consider work arounds an adequate answer to my question. Since Rhythmbox is the default player in Lucid I believe it needs to 'just work' in order to give the fantastic user experience that Mark Shuttleworth has made the goal for Ubuntu. If these features are just missing as it appears, I consider them deficiencies in Rhythmbox and I'll create bug/wishlist items for them. ** Affects: ayatana-ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Rhythmbox missing normal iPod/iPhone/mp3Player synchronization feature https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/606743 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
