Public bug reported: Video playback in totem of .h264 encoded video gives me choppy sound whereas mplayer does not give me this issue. I don't know if this is something in particular with gstreamer or pulseaudio though, because in Lucid I had issues with sound being choppy on any video player using any codecs; the only way I got that issue to stop in Lucid was to use the gallium drivers from the xorg edgers ppa for my radeon card, and use mplayer with X11 as the video output mode otherwise video playback from any source of any encoding gave me problems. Right now though like I said it seems like only totem is having an issue with any hd video files I have; the video will play fine with cpu usage being nearly nothing whereas the sound will be awful. Switch to mplayer, and it's fine.
