Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
When using a WebDAV server that provides displayname properties gnome-vfs incorrectly uses those instead of the actual filenames. For example, ownCloud (http://www.owncloud.org) provides a displayname consisting of the absolute path and filename, all uppercase, for all entries; if in the root directory you have two files foo.txt and bar.txt as well as the directory foodir, owncloud will send the displaynames /FOO.TXT /BAR.TXT and /FOODIR/ to the client. Doubleclicking the text files will then open them in gedit and the filename will be correct. Clicking on the directory /FOODIR/ will open that directory, but show all files in there as /FOODIR/FOO.TXT and /FOODIR/BAR.TXT instead of the expected foo.txt and bar.txt. Also, uploading a file will fail because the upload will be tried as "PROPFIND /FOODIR/" instead of "PROPFIND /owncloud/webdav/owncloud.php/foodir/". blindco...@ceres:~$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Release: 10.04 blindco...@ceres:~$ sudo apt-cache policy nautilus nautilus: Installed: 1:2.30.1-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 1:2.30.1-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1:2.30.1-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:2.30.0-0ubuntu4 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages blindco...@ceres:~$ ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gnome webdav wrongly interprets displayname property https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/604766 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
