Public bug reported:
I'm running the latest edgy on x86. I have a Samsung ML-1740 printer.
When I go through the printing wizard, I choose to add a local printer,
and specify my LPT 1 port. I then choose the Samsung ML-1740 driver,
which uses splix. I then hit apply. The wizard will hang for a couple
minutes, and close. When I return to the Printers dialog, no printers
will have been added. When running from the console, I get this error
message:*
* (gnome-cups-add:8448): WARNING **: IPP request failed with status 1280
** Affects: gnome-cups-manager (Ubuntu)
