Following these guidelines pc return from sleep normaly: To suspend to disk, choose "Hibernate" from the GNOME logout menu. To suspend to RAM, edit
/etc/default/acpi-support and uncomment the second line by deleting the # character, to read: ACPI_SLEEP=true Although I still get the brown stripes between login and splash screen, no nvidea graphics card. I though this fault was HAL related since at initialising desktop I got a Gnu/HAL related error message with a link, but since no program worked, I could not follow the link. Now error message is no longer displayed, all programs work. -- HAL error after return out of hibernation https://launchpad.net/bugs/61706 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
