Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
The brightness applet doesn't work on lucid, but it worked fine with karmic and jaunty. The system is a Compaq Presario CQ60 and doesn't need any privative drivers. The brightness is always at 100% but if you leave the mouse still, it goes to an energy saving mode. You can change it only through the Power Manager The problem is that panel applet cannot be used to change it, nor dedicated function keys.
